I am new to the world of purchasing sports cards, and this one really gets me. I want to buy a box of basketball cards, specifically the 1998/1999 UD Black Diamond box. But, I see that some boxes are sold as "Hobby Boxes" and others are sold as "Retail" boxes. Each box has the same set of cards and same sets of packs. Which should I buy? Is it a matter of getting a better selection of cards?

I have not been in the sports card hobby for some time, but I do know that many series of hobby and retail boxes differ in the insert cards. Some insert sets are exclusive for hobby boxes only, and some hobby boxes come with oversized-cards or special one-per-box insert.

I believe it is a matter of how many packs of cards you get per box. Giving you a better chance at actually owning a complete set.
