ok i go on this chatroom site chat-avenue.com and its fun and all but i was private chating w/ this guy and he said after we talked that he was a cop and he got my address, i dont know if he was joking or not. i wanna know if there is a way from a chatroom where u dont have to put in any info can a cop find out where u live

they shouldnt be able to find out your address unless 1 of three things happen:
1. they are a hacker, pretending to be a cop.
2. they are really cops and they would only track your address and info if they think you are a pedofile or a murderer or something.
3.if you tell them
maybe the person you were talking to was just playin around with you.if not i would contact the police and let them know there is an impersonator online

A cop would NEVER ask you for your address online!....unless you've done something wrong online, they would never also go looking for it.
If it is a chat site, he most likely will not be able to get your IP address to track you, chances are, he's lieing to you, do NOT give him any information.

he is just pulling your leg, not unless he is an extremely good hacker. so i wouldnt worry about it.
