Good and evil are defined by us. Let's take an example: When the Europeans colonized the world, they brought their culture with them and wanted to spread Christianity. They argued that they were doing something good, so their intentions were good. An Anthropologist might say that this was a tragedy because the people lost their cultures and traditions. Darwin might say that is was a normal process of domination. The strongest wins, which means in this example: The strongest has the most influence. So you see, you can turn and twist it and look at it from so many point of views.
If something is done with a good intention it is good for everyone who thinks just like this person. If something is affected in a bad way, it is automatically bad for it.
So much from my wise perspectives :-)

Good and Evil are supposed to be absolutes, like Black and White.

Some people can see good in evil things. Others can see evil in good things. Everything is perspective, and so is Good and Evil. Sure, some things seem cut and dried, but most aren't. And you can probably find someone that will see Good in a particular murder, and Evil in a particular miracle.

What may be good for you can be an evil to someone else, and vice versa. These words cannot be definite. It brings to mind Robert Pirsig's effort to define "quality" in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

In actuality, Everything is neutral universally. Good and Bad were always human methods of seeing the world due to the affects of needing to depend on one another in a society. Something either promotes us all of our lives, or hurts it. Hurtful things towards society are seen as bad, and good is beneficial. This question relies on one's own perception of the world due to the its neutrality as a basis.

Jesus coming had no bad results? Jeff, are you a moron or are you just pretending....Jesus' coming created some of the bloodiest controversies on the face of this planet...stop your blathering and look into reality...
Nothing, in the definition of man, is good or bad, but thinking makes it so. We have not the wisdom of heaven regarding the knowledge of good and evil...don't you recall when we ate of the tree smd were deceived... and because of our lack of trust in God and His knowledge...we were cast out...

You see...we really do not know good and evil..we just make up rules regarding, what we, as thinking creatures, IMAGINE would be either good or bad.

It is the preception of man that creates the illustion of good or evil and it is then that a label is given to whatever object is within question.

'Good' and 'evil' are value judgements. They are subjective terms. The definition changes depending on who's using the term. Is this news to you?
