she is 65 years old and her hearing is not so good...

she is one of those ladies who looks very good for her age, she is always dressed very nicely and she told me that she tried on a hearing aid and she does not like the way it looks... she is self conscience about that, so she decided not to use the hearing aid.

everyone always has to speak louder or repeat themselves..

and what is also bad is that my dad is 75 and he gets tired too because he always has to repeat himself like 3 times...

is there anything i can do?

are there any "fashionable" and comfortable hearing aid i can get my mom?

thank you!

The real problem is you, your dad and everyone else caters to your mom for her own self consciousness. When you give in to her, she will continue to accept that she doesn't have to wear a hearing aid. You need to stop repeating yourselves and tell her, "We're no longer going to repeat. You want to hear us, buy a hearing aid." AND STICK TO IT.

There are many hearing aids which fit inside the ear canal and are not noticeable. Talk to your doctor to learn what types are out there. There is no reason to be self conscious of wearing one. If she still is, then that's her problem. You shouldn't have to suffer because of it.

Everybody is self concience about the hearing aid. Especially the big ones that show. If money is a prob. take up a collection in the family and get her one that fits inside of her ear.

Vain people frequently are in denial about hearing loss. In addition to dragging her to an audiologist (NOT a hearing aid dispenser) who can fully evaluate her hearing and determine the type and degree of her hearing loss, try the following experiment: Family members should wear ear plugs for a day to give her an idea of what is like for them to fail to understand her, as well as make you more sympathetic to her plight. She should get a really good idea about your frustration in communicating with her.
There are digital all-in-the-ear hearing aids available. The audiologist can advise her about which aid would be appropriate for the type and degree of her hearing loss.
