Hey, my hot water tap in the bathroom is not working ie you turn it but nothing comes out, at all! It has been like this for the past day but all the other taps are working fine, even the shower?? Does anyone know why this is happening/how it can be fixed?

The most likely cause of this (given that your hot water is working fine from other faucets) is that the faucet (knob) in your bathroom is the problem. One possibility is that there is something in the lead to the faucet or inside the faucet, itself that is obstructing the hot water. Another is that the o-ring or some other part of the faucent itself is broken.

To isolate the problem, try to turn off the hot water knob under the sink (usually the one on the left). Disconnect the lead-hose with an adjustable wrench. With an old towel and/or bucket handy, and with the lead hose out of the way, attempt to (slightly) turn back on the hot. If water comes out, turn it back off. You know for sure that the problem is in the faucet. If that's the case...

Assess - how old is the faucent? If its pretty old, just replace it.
You can completely disconnect it and purcahse a new faucet at Home Depot or Lowes for ~$60-100 or so. Fancier ones can be much more. See link one for instructions to install a new one. Or call a plumber. You CAN do this yourself if you have a handful of the right tools and some patience. The first time you do this, it will take a long time and you'll probably swear a lot. It will also leak. Alas, you'll tighten things and fix the leak, and the next time you do this it will be easier.

If the faucet you are working on is a recognizable brand name and you are braver than I, you might try to remove the hot water knob and commence carefully removing parts. Check for calcium buildup/deposits and clean it. Replace and test. Might need to replace inner mixing assembly --- bring all parts to a plumbing supply company and hope to find someone helpful at the customer service counter.

Good luck.

Look under the cabinet and trace the hot water line to the valve below, turn it the other direction and see if that works.

sometimes those get turned by accident.

What type of pipes do you have in your house. It sound like you may have steel or galvanized pipes they are clouged with calcium build up in them. You may have to call a plumber or me. If you live close to where I live.
