it's not so much getting sick immediately, but over the long run from food that is no longer nourishing.

Since almost all our foods have been genetically
modified, the answer seems to be no. To some
people the idea that something was done in a
laboratory automatically makes it horrible and
dangerous. This is simply hysteria. The genetic
modification you are referring to is, I assume, that
done by putting a gene into a genome where it
didn't originally occur. The only possible way this
might cause a problem, as far as I know, is that a
plasmid is used to make the transfer. If the plasmid is capable of causing a sickness there
could be unpleasant results. If the plasmid is
harmless, no problem. People have been changing the genetics of their foods for centuries
by cross-breeding and no one worries about that.
Genetic modification, except for the carrier plasmid, is exactly the same thing, but much more
efficient. Cloned foods don't involve the carrier,
so they would be entirely safe and there is no
reason whatever to worry about whether they are
labelled cloned or not.
Some people just get irrationally upset when they
find out something is "artificial", forgetting that a
great many completely "natural" substances are
deadly poiosons.

Clones are not the same as genetically modified. Clones are just copies of something already in existence. Identical twins are clones and they happen naturally. Genetically modified means that the genetic material, the DNA has been altered to make a "better product". They have genetically altered corn to be more bug resistant and rice to provide more nutrients. The only reasonable fear concerning this is that if you genetically modify corn, now that plant is making different proteins and there is a small risk that some people may be allergic to that specific protein. The chances of that happening are minuscule, but it sure would tick me off if I were the allergic one and could no longer safely use corn or any of its products. So, my understanding is that they are proceeding with caution....

Yeah when i was pregnant i went to a curry house for some tea and the smell made me vomit all over, was so embarrassing. Also like the other woman said when i went to a shop and all the smells mingled together with a bad case of B.O from some stinky woman made me run out the shop and again vomit all over. And burgers.

Unfortunately you may not end up with a good answer to this - they do not test or label genetically modified foods just like if cloned beef were to go on the market it will not be singled out. Fortunately (for at least a while) the plan is to let the clones breed and we may end up with their off spring. Unfortunately cloned animals will be used to produce antibodies for things like the shots we get so our reactions may have unforeseen consequences.
