In the summer of 1984 aged 18 years Ramsey was being actively scouted by Glasgow Rangers, when he injured his knee, smashing the cartilage during training. He continued to train and play on the injured knee, but then tore a cruciate ligament during a squash game.He never fully recovered from the double injury and was told by Rangers that he would not be signed and suggesting that he could sign for a club in a lower league. He declined and the rest is history.

Hi Christian - Im reading his autobiog at the mo! UYes, until he was in his mid teens he played for Glasgow Rangers but had several nasty incidents on the pitch, causing him serious injuries to the point where recovery didnt happen. He'd taken up a cooking course in London at 15/16 and played at the weekends! HTH :O)

Yes I think he played with Glasgow Rangers, but couldn't have been any good, otherwise he wouldn't have taken up cooking
