No, prenatal vitamins contain no hormones or anything, they are just vitamins that are formulated to give the body what it needs for pregnancy and breastfeeding. Many doctors recommend starting prenatal vits when you are trying to get pregnant so your body is healthy and ready. The vitamins themselves will not increase your risk but will help your body be healthy.

Not at all but they are still a good thing to take in preparation. It is recommended to take folic acid up to three months before trying to get pregnant. Though dont worry its perfectly OK to start taking them closer to when you want to get pregnant and essential to take while you are pregnant.

Prenatal vitamins dont usually contain Iron so dont worry about it. As long as the vitamins are designed for pregnant women all that is already taken care of by the manufacturer.
Taking them does not make you sick. There is nothing in them that is different from taking any other multi vitamin just that they have the optimum requirements for the pregnant body.

No, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're trying... The iron (which is significantly higher than most multivitamins) has a tendency to make people nauseous... If you're trying to get pregnant, make sure you're taking AT LEAST 400 mg per day of Folic Acid, as it significantly reduces the chances of a terrible problem with the unborn child called spina bifida. If you do decide to take the prenatal vitamins and they do make you feel sick, take them just before bed with a full glass of water so by the time your body starts feeling it you're already asleep!

Good luck!

No it doesn't increase your risk. Prenatals contain vitamins that your body needs. It is recommended if you are trying to get pregnant then to take prenatals. The reason because it gives your body the nutrients it needs. I took them even when I was not trying because it was very good for hair and nails. Also, if you do try to get preg, it helps in the development of baby. When I was trying to get pregnant they told me it was recommended and even if I wasn't it was good because of the nutrients.

no

prenatal vitamins make sure you're getting all your nutrients. Therefore you're healthier. You're more likely to get pregnant when you're perfectly healthy. While prenatals don't increase your risks of getting pregnant themselves, they do give your body what it needs to help sustain a pregnancy. If you're not practicing safe sex, chances are, sooner or later, you're going to get pregnant. Vitamins or not.

They are good vitamins to take while ttc because they have all the nutrients that a baby needs to develop. Most women don't even find out they are pregnant until 2-3 weeks after conception, so having those nutrients in your system will help in early development. However, they will not make you more prone to get pregnant. My friend's doctor gave her a prescription for them when her immune system was low.

If you are doing it in hopes to get PG... no it wont help. But might I suggest maybe taking a regular Vitamin and some extra Folic Acid instead... because not being PG you can overdose on some of the Vit's... ie the iron.
