I think that a federal law should be created requiring everything to be written in English, not Spanish. I mean, this is AMERICA. Everywhere I turn, we have signs written in English and Spanish. I think that if people come here to live--legally or illegally--they should at least learn our language first. And if they decide not to, then they wouldn't be able to do anything, because we would have everything written in English only. Why should we be required to know a different language in order to communicate with people who can't speak our language in our own country. (I know--I am very opinionated, but you asked!)

I would repeal all laws which regulate individual behavior that has no direct affect on another person. For example, mandatory helmet laws for bicycle and motorcycle riders. Mandatory seat belt laws, and even laws that make it mandatory to keep a garbage bag in your car (a real law, btw, in Washington state).

I'm not saying that the behaviors these laws try to force people to do are not good. In fact, I think the behaviors these laws try to force people to do are very good and smart. I just don't think you should FORCE people to conform to these behaviors. There is nothing in the Constitution that says you don't have the right to act stupidly.

I think restrictions making it hard for 18 year olds to rent hotel rooms and cars should be reformed. if we can vote, buy cigarettes and lottery tickets, and get drafted and shot up in Iraq, why can't we rent hotel rooms or cars???
