Being A Keen Wannabe Zoologist My Self I Mite Be Able To Help
Aha, Homework I Gather, Cant Be Bothered?
Well I'll Say What I Know;
Cheetahs Usually Hunt On Their Own
They Can Reach Speeds Of 60mph Chasing Down An Animal - (Deer, Antelope Etc.)
Usually They Aim For The Weaker Either The Elderly, New Born, Or The Sick.
Running Up Behind The Prey, And Striking At Its Back Calf Muscles Is Its Main Weapon, However It Must Be Done Instantly. Because Even Though The Cheetah Can Run At A Phanomenal Pace. This Is Only For A Very Short Period Of Time.
Hope This Helped

Cheetahs hunt by stalking a target prey animal until they are close enough to catch it by a fast dash. They must be close because even though the cheetah is the fastest land animal, it can maintain this high rate of speed for only a short time, while most prey animals have more staying power.
When the cheetah reaches its prey, it trips it using its front claws. It then pins the prey to the ground and strangles it by biting and holding it on the neck. Typical prey are small grazing animals.

the cheetah is the fastest land mammal using this speed to run down and catch its favourite prey of thomsons gazelles. a cheetahs speed can reach 55 miles per hour while a thomsons can reach 50 mph. this is why many escape the cheetah and live. the cheetah uses a front paw to trip the gazelle up by knocking it off balance. and at that speed it only needs a little swipe to do the job. they will also take other antelope and warthogs along with ground squirrel, hares and carrion if available. the prey when caught is held by the throat and asphyxiated.

It used to use sheer speed, and swat at the legs of its prey, causing it to fall. Then it usually grabbed the prey by the throat and suffocated it.
However, following the collapse of the USSR, and with the open market being what it is, it now typically uses the 7.62-mm SVD Dragunov sniper rifle. With a killing range of 3800 metres and a muzzle velocity of 830 metres per second, the cheetah can now dispense with those tiresome stalks and chases, and simply picks off its prey from a comfortable 2 km away.
That's if the cheetah is still carnivous. Many now feel that eating meat is repellant and just eat beansprouts, tofu and lentilburgers.

it stalks its prey and when its close enough its takes out its prey.Also did you know the cheetah can reach the speed 25 mph.Well actully it depends if the area where the cheetah is roaming is small then the cheetah will not be able to reach the speed 25mph.Unless if the area is big enough it can reach the speed 25 mph.
