Ok so the doc tells us to lay there after sex and elevate your hips so that the sperm stays in better without leaking out, buuuuuut after staying there for 10-15 mins I get up to go pee and it will be all wet and slimy down there, is that me or is that his sperm? because if that is the sperm then doesn't that mean that its not getting into me? any advice...sorry for grossing you out! LOL

It's both of you, and it's normal. Both of your bodies will produce some lubracant during intercourse. Yes, some of it is probably semen, and that's okay too. I jumped up to use the bathroom right after sex, almost always, and I still got pregnant. (Last time with twins) Just becase you're wiping some of it away, doesn't mean you just wiped your chances of getting pregnant away. There are millions and millions of sperm released during one sexual encounter. It only takes ONE to get you pregnant. Relax, and enjoy. It will happen.

not gross at all!
It has been thought that remaining on your back with your hips elevated can help with conception, but really, most of the work is done when he withdraws. Since such a small amount of semen is actually sperm, 10-15 min is usually a pretty good time frame to wait. Whether or not you go the or wait all night, you will probably not incease your chances anymore than they already are. The wet and slimy is from a combo of you and him, and it is alright. Good luck!

The product of a mans ejaculation has the sperm and some other fluids that are like food to sperm such us proteins e.t.c The other fluids do not "swim" towards anywhere so they come out (as an effect of gravity) mixed with your fluids, All the sperm does not reach the cervix but there is always enough for the fertilisation, and do not forget you need just one of them. Good luck!

When my husband and I were trying to get pregnant, we waited until the right day and had sex. I hate feeling gooky and slimey (I like your word) but after we had sex I laid there with two pillows under my hips. We waited until right before bedtime also so that I would not have to get up at all. I simply put a towel under me (over the pillow) and tried not to tighten any muscles down there (you use some of these muscles when you sit up). Maybe it was kind of retarded but I even pushed some of the fluid back inside to "help". This may have been a little extreme but it worked and this was only our 2nd month of trying. Nine months and 8 days after our wedding we had a bouncing baby boy! Good luck to you. (Most of the fluid belongs to your husband, it is his ejaculate)

Some semen is going to come out, just from gravity. It is probably a combination of your fluid and his. Keeping your hips up will help the sperm swim into you and get near your egg, so as long as you keep doing that, you should be ok.

Not gross at all....exactly how it is done. This is exactly what hubby and I did to have our daughter. And the slime? That is your husband. Not you. It will come out when you sit up (gravity and all). I usually sat there for 15-20 min. But believe me, some of it does stay up there for sure...my daughter is proof.

don't worry, it's not the sperm, but the semen. The seman is the liquid the sperm travels in and once he comes, the sperm and ejaculate seperate. The sperm travels up and the semen seeps out.
