I had a gerbil and never had a wheel for him, It was not recommended for him. Bought him at PetsMart. And he was healthy without it...At least mine was.

Gerbils can't really be made to like something. Try putting a treat on it or try to turn the wheel from the outside, it might attract it. Also, my hamster actually took several weeks to start using her wheel. your gerbil will get it eventually, its just breaking in to its new home right now.

my hamsters have plastic wheels and they love it!
they're way easier to clean also!
so look into a plastic one that isn't wires...it's a complete wheel with one side open for it to get in...
also your gerbil could just be getting use to it's new home...after a few more days if it's not on the wheel put it on it and see if it starts to run. It just may not know what the wheel is.
OR
It may only use the wheel at night since they're nocturnal. You just might not see it.

Kiwi and Mango for names... gerbils will ultimately chew it up, yet get them a plastic wheel. my gerbil had a metal wheel and he not in any respect used cos his tail changed into stuck each and each and every of the time, and then he were given a plastic one...try to be certain him RUN!

some gerbils don't like exercise wheels, or maybe since you just got him he's shy right now, give it some time, and if nothing happens, just put some other kind of stimulation in it's cage

its because the gerbil does not obtain the tablet of wasure. once he obtains it, he could do two things:
1) he could spawn onto the wheel
2) he could grow to a lvl 38 mage and use a teleport. however, the gerbil would need to have a telestone and a pyro tablet in order to cast the teleport.

Be thankful that your gerbil is lazy. They run at night and it makes a hell of a racket.

Some animals simply don't like them, it could be the spacing is to big for it to comfortably run or the metal is hurting it's feet.
