What are the signs of a bad head gasket on a 2000 chevy. malibu

Usually a bad or blown head gasket has the same effect on all cars.

1) Smoke/steam blowing out of your tailpipe.

2) The coolant in your radiator will keep requiring filling up (can also be a bad water pump).

3) Car will run badly, or not at all.

Depending on how well the car was maintained, it might have any number of problems - if it was run without enough oil, or without regular oil changes, it may have severe internal damage.
