Iran poses the greater danger of the two. Saudi Arabia's military is small and defensive in nature. Iran has a larger military and has threatened the US, US interests and US allies.

I'm an American living in Saudi Arabia. I feel completely safe here. Even the big cities are safe. The crime rate is low compared to the US, especially when you consider how many people live in the cities here. I've never been to Iran, but I believe it's also safe. My in-laws have been there on business several times without any problems.

In my humble opinion I'd have to say Saudi Arabia. This is due to the fact that you never see or hear anything about them in the press unless it is related to another country in the region. What dealings are going on behind the backs of the average US citizen between the US and the Saudis that we are not aware of. Considering the fact that at one point in time we have been even weakly allied with the likes of Iraq, Iran, and others in the region we now are seeing first hand the results of those clandestine relationships after they went bad. Who knows what will occur if the same thing happens with the Saudis.

Clearly Iran. However, the Saudi relationship is pretty one-sided, IMO - they do us lots of wrong.

Where Iran is concerned, they don't HAVE to be so dangerous - the population wants warm US relations and likes us MUCH better than does the population of Saudi Arabia. Problem is with the governments, both theirs and ours.

Iran is as far as THEY are concerned,is at war with us(US) as can be verified by the Ferret's comments in Venezuela, and as such a problem we need to "Deal With"!

However, Sa'udi Arabia, Iraq, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt, UAI's, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Turkey, and some others in the region, all have the US as a strong Allie, which makes all of them much, much more DANGEROUS!!!!!!

ADDED--Cardinal Fung--Keep up with current events! Iran just had Millions intercepted by Egypt while trying to get it's way to Hamas! Yeah Shia support for Sunnis all to cause even more problems like the Iranians live to do!--Also just like I said, They are in a State of War, with both the US and Israel, so as far as they are concerned, anything goes!

Iran is by far the more dangerous. It is led by a bunch of crazies who want to start a war. By comparison, Saudi Arabia is a haven of tranquillity, even though its human rights record sucks.

Saudi Arabia has armed and funded Al-Qu'eda, provided 15 of the 19 hijackers on 9/11 and is probably sheltering Bin Laden as we speak (the guy has kidney failure and needs dialysis - trust me he's not sitting in a cave in Afghanistan).

Iran - just doesn't do what its told to by the US. International experts say it's not a danger to either the US or its neighbours.

Which really is the more dangerous if you properly think about it?
