Respect today has nothing to do with holding someone in high regards because of their accomplishments or position and has everything to do with not offending people. I was just wondering this yesterday. It appears as if true respect has gone the way of the Panda, very rare and valuable to have.

If one is a teacher, all think their child is perfect or near perfect. I've found out that if one respects the other it is returned and if it isn't you still treat one with kindness, Catch more flies with honey, that doesn't mean you bow down to them or let one run over you. People who see and hear respect as a rule appreciate it. You must also remember everyone of us is not alike and not to expect it back. I've heard it's better to give than receive. If you are respectful then your mind is clear. Those who don't return it most likely have a situation or problem their in, sometimes we just have to over look those who are disrespectful and go on with life with a smilel

Respect has to be given before it can be earned. It is to be taught before it can be given. It has been my experience that the people crying out the loudest to be respected are the least deserving of it. If you give respect, it will come back to you. That said, as a father I try to teach my sons to give respect because it is the right thing to do. I also try to set an example for them by not giving them a reason to disrespect me. I have also tried to helpthem realize that respect is not weakness, but a very strong indication of one's own inner strength and self-respect.

You will never gain respect from a people that can not respect themselves. We have a horrible "Me revolution" all over the world that is destroying our self respect.
People are becoming faithless, they have no honor or honesty and think only of themselves. It is a good way to self destruct.
Statements like "respect me and i'll respect you" are destructive and believing that removes respect because no one will give it first.

Teaching ... Parents of 60's started lossing control and respect slowly has died away over the 70's and 80's.

Parents Now are the Children of the I don't care Years
or I only care of myself even in Family's

Parents of the 80's and 90's Didn't learn Real respect and don't care to teach it to there Children...

Teaching Respect is Hard for those who don't no real respect.
