Some of us want to beat Al Qaeda first and foremost. Some of us want to beat Republicans first and foremost. So they can respond proudly when their children ask, "Daddy, what did you do in the War Against Bush?"

Our "serious" press corps of "experts without portfolio" in action.

You want to write dozens of stories on Bush the ****-Up? Fine. How about an occasional story about the actual war itself, and the consequences of losing it?

Nah. That would be "carrying Bush's water."

No problem with carrying Nancy Pelosi's, though.

LOL... very good question... the media got their collective panties in a bunch because Bush marginalized them and basically ignored them from the get go. Now they will do everything they can to get even, even if that means providing skewed one sided arguments that embolden the enemy and brainwash the public.

I have yet to hear about the economy in the media but we are in the midst of the strongest US ecoomy ever.

It's not possible to defeat Al Qaeda with wars, because every time we attack a country, we destroy the lives of countless innocents, who then become easy recruits for Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups. The "war on terror" as it is being fought, is a) self-perpetuating, and b) not winnable, because the terrorist ideology will still remain, and actually be extended by our actions.

Oh, and by the way, if the media is so horrribly against Bush, where the hell were they back when everyone was cheering the war on? It's only now, when it's blindingly obvious that the war was a catastrophe and 30% of people support Bush, that they choose to say something. The media was all too willing to suck up to Bush...until public opinion swayed the other way.

If Bush was really concerned with fighting Al Qaeda, he would not have diverted all those thousands of soldiers and billions of dollars into invading a third world country which wasn't a threat to either the US or its neighbours (don't take my word for it - both Congress and the Baker Commission say the same thing). Instead he would have gone all out for a fair and just peace settlement in Israel/ Palestine, gone after the Saudis who were funding Al Qaeda and made a real and serious attempt to end the poverty and injustice that creates recruits for terrorist organisations.

Instead, we have a quagmire in Iraq and an international situation that radicalised a generation of young Muslims and dramatically increased the liklihood of more terrorist attacks (again so say Congress and the Baker Commission), all for the sake of his neo-conservative ideology. These are the real consequences of Bush's war in Iraq - shame that the Conservatives just refuse to see it.

Yes, liberals do think that, but people do want to defeat Al Queda and that is why most people even liberals still support the war in Afghanistan. The consequences of losing the war in Iraq are not good, but that doesn't mean we have to believe we should be there or that Bush is the best man for winning the war. I may not know who would be the best person for coming up with a war strategy but it certainly isn't Bush.

Nope, it particularly is the social conservatives who take care of "Harvest gala's" to maintain little ones from Trickortreating. Many Christian fundamentalists merchandise to the pagan origins of Halloween, because it became initially a pagan holiday, which became taken over by using the Christian church while Christianity grew to become the dominant faith in many places. Neo-pagans nonetheless rejoice Halloween as Samhain. by the way, the two Christmas and Easter are celebrated on classically pagan dates...Christmas very on the factor of the iciness solstice, and Easter on the factor of the vernal equinox. in actuality, Easter has lots of the previous pagan traditions linked with it. working example, lots of the traditions are fertility appropriate, which includes Easter eggs and bunnies. while a greater contemporary faith supplants an older one, often the previous traditions stay to tell the story, yet tackle new myths and traditions besides. while the Roman gods supplanted the Greek ones, properly, the traditions have been observed. while Christianity supplanted pagan gods, the previous traditions lived on.

What Bush is doing is not really helpful in the war against Al Qaeda, so we can oppose him in good conscience, and be confident that we can proudly discuss it with our children someday.

nancy isnt about killing soldiers and innocent Iraqis. they are fighting for thier freedom. it is like if someone came and invaded to get Bush out of power. of course some of us would be happy and feel safer, but the majority would riot and get mad as their rights get taken away one by one.

I hope I am one of the survivors of the war not against Bush. I also hope I survive the carnage that Bush has given us.

How about you write an editorial, extolling the virtues of Bush and his fine policies, for your local newspaper and see if they will publish it? Then you won't have to bash other journalists for not doing what you won't do.
