Alright well here's the deal. My boss (owns 1/2 the company) likes to come over to my desk when I'm not sitting down & sit in my chair. The thing is I have a little person's chair & the max weight capacity on it is 250lbs. And he weights about 425lbs. He sits in my chair spins around in it & even bounces in it. I've watched him do it! I've had to replace my chair 3 times in the last 2 years. He always breaks it. Then the company won't buy me a new one for months & I'm stuck in a broken chair sitting a foot maybe off the ground with my nose to the computer screen. The obvious solution would be to get a sturdier chair however the company will not buy me one. They get the cheapest thing they can find.

How do I tell my boss TO STOP SITTING IN MY CHAIR. (he just broke my new one & I've only had it a couple months!) I've asked him repeatedly to 'please not sit in my chair.' He doesn't listen. Any suggestions would be great! Especially before I start boobie trapping the thing.

Also I am HR! My direct boss & I have disscussed it & yet to come up with what to say to him, to get him to stop every attempt we've made, well simply hasn't worked!

1. When you have to be away from your desk, pile stuff (papers, purse, boxes, trash can) in your chair. It might take some effort and a little time, but eventually he might get the point.
2. Also, tell him next time he breaks your chair you expect him to buy you a new one out of his own pocket, a chair you get to pick out no matter what the cost!
3. Come right out and tell him there is a weight limit on your chair.
Discuss these points with your other coworkers so they know what you are doing.

Well-the next time he breaks your chair, take your chair into his office and ask for his and tell him he can use yours while you wait on a new one.

Or, the next time he sits in your chair, just go over and say, "Excuse, I need to sit there." He should get up----if not, tell him you need to work and need to sit behind your desk to do so.

Also--your boss should actually be taking care for this for you-----but, since it's fallen on you, then try asking to move first and if he breaks it--swap the chairs.
