I´m sincerely mad not dissapointed because they had the game in the pocket as same as they lost 2 years ago vs. jets it is because the decisions of the coach I think they did a great job, I don t think Marty will be fired but certainly they lost because coach´s decisions and that they didn´t capitalize Pats mistakes when Pats did with Chargers´

First, I just have to say that all four playoff games were very good. Some more exciting than others and the Chargers/Patriots game was tops.
However, Chargers did not play well. When you lose the turnover battle in a close game, it isn't surprising that the Chargers lost.
Philip Rivers did not have a good game. He completed less than half of his passes, which forces the team to make 'spotty' use of the #1 rusher this season in LT, and had two turnovers. And the low completion percentage is magnified when you consider that he threw the ball 32 times.
The team committed more penalties than the Patriots. The punter didn't punt as well as the Patriot's punter, which plays a role in field position.
But the #1 reason was the poor play of the quarterback. And his arm looks too weak. If you don't have a strong arm, then you better complete those passes. Drew Brees might have done better, if they kept him. Instead, he's winning games for the New Orleans Saints who lost 13 games last season.

The Chargers had the Patriots beat, but made too many mental mistakes down the stretch, which you CAN'T do against a team that's won 3 Super Bowls. The Patriots play solid and force teams to make plays- the never beat themselves, so you can't give them extra opportunities. Unfortunately, that's exactly what the Chargers did and Brady made 'em pay. Youth and inexperience killed the talent advantage.
I think this guy from Fox sports nailed it- I personally even toss out the first 6 reasons because stuff like that went both ways- the Patriots had some easy missed opportunities, too. But #7 through #10 tell the story of the game...

I just can't believe how badly San Diego played yesterday. It was so painful to watch! This is the best team in the league, you have the league's MVP and you barely use him? Fumbles and interceptions left and right, not to mention all of the dropped passes by receivers. Stupid mistakes galore! I bet Kaeding feels horrible. Two post season loses that rest on his shoulders, though I must say it wasn't his fault that the team did so badly yesterday.
The Patriots definately don't deserve to be where they are. The Colts, well, they've at least proven with their defense that they deserve to be there. Peyton Manning hasn't been doing so well, but that defense is the reason the team is winning. The Patriots always have that funny way of getting lucky. The Chargers just were not playing to playoff caliber and were unable to make key decisions.
You guys always have next year.

i individually do think of many all of us is underestimating what the Chargers can pull off. merely look how sturdy they have been doing on the line! i think of the Bolts are going to hold it down first 0.5. Patriots come again vast time in third quarter and Chargers combat returned 4th quarter. Merriman is gonna knock some experience into Tom Brady

No 2 bye teams in the same conference have ever been eliminated in the divisional playoffs. Think of it as a historic day. The Pats will probably go all the way and play the Saints. Saints offense is a powerhouse so they will win.

LUCKY?! Troy Brown has 2 words that describe him: FOOTBALL PLAYER. he does it all and went from wr to defensive player mode after that pick...the Chargers deserved to lose after all those terrible plays you mentioned above...
If you remember, the Chargers had a 48yd field goal early and decided to go for it on 4th and a lot, and then what happened? Pats got the ball and kicked a FIFTY (50) yd field goal, proving that Gostkowski is much better than some queer named Vinatieri...give it a break u whiny brat, Pats won, Chargers lost, Pats will now win the super bowl
