racism in america has always existed. it exsits because people have opinions and entitled to like or dislike whom ever they chose. every race has racist people in it. there are people that hate white people, blacks, lations, chinese, etc. one reason this exists is due to stereo types. a lot of times people fill those stereo types which gives people even more of a reason to dis like them. also one bad experience with a person from a different race can cause you to judge the entire race. it's not fair but its true. my friends brother was killed by a black guy and ever since then they have hated black people. most people don't want to take the time to judge people on a person to person basis once they have had a bad experience.

Since colonialism it has been proven that the 'European' way of thought is that any culture, race, or ethnic group that differes from their own is seen as less and inferior. This view has allowed many countries such as India, Africa, America (the list goes on) to be conquered, over-run, enslaved, and pitted against one another. It is sad but this view still exist today. Racism still exists. It has become taboo to talk about it. Everyone would like to believe that we exist in this world that is full of harmony and brother hood but that simply is not the case. How can an American say that there is no racism when this country's founding was a racial cleansing and built on the backbone of slaves. We still have a way to go. Those who see otherwise need to take their blinders off and open their eyes. Everytime you lock your door and clench your purse when a non-Eurpoean walks by you is a clear sign that this stigma still exists.

Let's get one thing straight.Racism isn't the sole realm of White folks. If we can all agree on that one fact then the job of overcoming this ugliness will be all the more easier.
The truth is that we are all different. We all are people, but we have different backgrounds, ideas, and ways of life.
People,by their very nature, are wary of things that don't fall into their realm of experience.Ask your parents what they think about your favorite genre of music and you'll see what I mean.
Tolerance and an open mind are key to overcoming this.
If you think that America is a racist country then you might want to travel to other less progressive lands and see how they feel about other folks. You might be surprised just how tolerant our country is by comparison.

Its human nature to group up and beatup on someone. This is evident in primary schools when race is not even involved. Either way, this issue will alwasy exist untill we realize that there is only One Race, the Human Race. We all are pink on the inside, bleed red blood and all pee yellow.

It's so widespread. Really sad. I just see the things people sometimes write in these forums and wonder... what happened? I sometimes can't believe people would put so much energy into hating someone else. Xenophobia it it's best...
