Say,when you have breakfast, your pet does as well. No,I don't mean you feed it bacon and eggs also.Perhaps you feed your pet at the same time so it's not looking over your shoulder while you're trying to eat.

Not necessarly, Some animals should get their food split into 2 meals, but many dogs and cats can get their daily food placed down and eat when they're hungry. If you want to feed them like that so they arn't begging then you can just split their daily amount into 3 meals.

No, not really. I feed them before I go to work in the morning. I usually feed them again when I get home from work. My indoor cats usually do get part of my dinner.

They either get something when I'm through or they no that anything I throw on the floor is their's. They don't attempt to jump up on the table. They are patient until I am through. Some of my cats, don't even like table food and could care less.

My dogs get fed once a day in the evening. I rarely eat breakfast and lunch at home but when I do they have to wait until I have finished eating and then I give them a snack - not a meal. If they cannot wait politely and patiently then they get put to bed until I get finished with my meal.

yeah like others... i feed my animals on a schedule, and they eat at like 5 or 6 in the morning, and refills at like 5 or 6 at night, and perhaps an "overnight snack" for the cat (not the dog)...

and sometimes it happens that they get their evening meal at the same time i have my dinner...

also, if they are full, likely they won't want to be interested in what i'm eating.

One of my cats gets wet food twice a day (in addition to the kibble they both get)- I give him his evening portion around 6:30, and we usually eat between 6:30 -7:30. I had hoped he'd be too full to beg, but he saves room! If we're eating, he's begging - not that we give him any, but he tries.

(The other cat has never been much for people food, so he's no worries)

My dogs (all three of them) are on a strict schedule, meals happen at the same time every day, whether or not I eat too. Sometimes it falls at the same time.

I don't do it on purpose because I don't want my dogs associating the two. If I feel like having a snack I don't want them acting crazy jumping up and down at the pantry door for another supper.

i feed my dogs after my family has eaten dinner. since dogs are pack animals that follow a hierarchy this establishes my role as the alpha member of the pack, supposedly anyway.

I will usually give my cat her canned-food right before I eat, keeps the cat happy, and reduces/eliminates any 'begging' for human food, as she is getting what she prefers.
