Physically, you could be an adult at the age of 18-20. A brain doesn't fully mature until 22-24. But the most important aspect of maturity has to do with your character...who you are inside. I've known people who were over 80 years old and who had achieved very little maturity as people. They were like children in many ways...insecure, timid, whining, etc.
In my experience, you continue exploring the challenges of your adult life during your 20s, and become fully mature...in the best sense...in your 30s. You get perspective, you take responsibility, you learn to do the hard things to be a part of your community and achieve your goals. That is, if you have this goal, and you consciously use your life experience to learn all you can. Not everyone does this.

It's not any specific age, just when you grow up you grow up. Some people are extremely mature for their ages and can be considered adults when they are 13. Some people never grow up. But most people will become an adult somewhere between their 20s or 30s. Becoming an adult usually involves going through something that makes you realize that just because you're living your own life doesn't mean that everything that happens in the world pertains to you. It just depends on the specific person.

When you don't think you are the person you were and that you are satisfied with the person you see. That you are able to face difficult decisions head on and willing to accept new challenges which seemed impossible until you became an adult. When you realize what sacrifices it meant to bring you into the world and the ability to recognize the importance all the work your parents may have put into getting you where you are now. It was about 26 for me.

I don't think there is any definite age, it is different for everyone. It all depends on your level of responsibility, independence, and perspective. I am almost 26 and even though i have been taking care of myself since I was 19, I was not a true adult until i had my daughter a year ago. Since then my whole perspective on life has changed and I take more things seriously now.

I think everyone matures at a different rate. Kids don't matter, accomplishments don't matter, it's how you act. When you realize how important responsiblity is, and start to take some for yourself.
