start as a MC first sort of like what Lady Sovereign is then at parties or such host some freestyle battles then hopefully while you're making the other person look bad a producer will sign you on but it takes hard work. just be like Mike Jones; Back then they didn't want me now i'm hot they all on me

Yoy just gotta get lucky. I have a friend who one day was like "I want to rap" Literally. He didn't any interest in rap until that day. It was very spontaneous.

He bought a program that let him create his own beats and he used piano and violin and he created his own music. It was really good stuff.

He was good at music before he started though.

Then he would write lyrics to his beats. Perform his songs at talent shows and would play small gigs and then he would buy studio equipment and put out his own albms around our school.

Then he went to college and stopped. He could have gone somewhere with it but he just stopped. so...

Thats what you have to do. But keep in mind that you ARE NOT going to put out great music over night. It took my friend three years to do what he did. Just so he could stop.
