Other than having a change in your diet by taking omega3, I think you can start the exercise plan for your brain. It takes time for a person to get better memory. However, the more practise there is, the better it will work. Start from simple things.
Example, don't keep note on what you need to buy from supermarket. Use your memory instead. Daily tasks is a good workout. Then try to remember formulas & test yourself once in awhile. You can ask your friends to help too. Have a simple plan & take it step by step. When you get to the next level, you can reward yourself with encouragement. It helps in your motivation. Self-determination is also important.
No dooubt it might sound like a hard tasks to complete. But all you need to do is continue practise & pratise, especially with pleasure.

one- play memory games to train your mind- they're fun to so your interest will be held

two- write things down, make that a big habit. keep a small note pad on your person all day and next to your bed at night.
that way you won't forget your note pad, with all the note you don't want to forget.

three- cut your stress level. stress effects how well you remember things

four- if you are stressed or have other things on the mind, don't try to do things that require memorizing or intense consentration. in my psyc class I had to read a chapter and copy the vocab. I couldn't focus on the reading and anything I read I forgot. so I skipped ahead to the vocab, where all I had to do was copy it down and look at it later. the reading was too hard for me at the time

five- make memory tricks. if you always forget where you park, always park next to someting (a lightpole, a sign, ect). if you can't do that then look at a landmark (fire hedrant, patch of grass/flowers/a bush, a store, ect) closed to your car.
for meorizing facts, use mneonic device. like I needed to memorize the lobes in the brain. they are Frontal, Parenial, Occipital, and Temporal (FPOT) I think of it as Free Pot. It heled me on many tests and discussions in my class.

thats all I can think of. but you can look up things I wrote about- like the mneomic devices and find more, or how to cut stress and make your own personal 'memory treatment'

Read, do crosswords and puzzles, play cards, play logical games, games of strategy. All these rev the thinking process.

Socialize with friends since conversation helps your train of thought. Exercise, walking is great, to get the blood flowing throughout your body.

Don't take any herbal or OTC supplements until you ask your doctor if they will not decrease or increase any prescription medicines

Don't rely on writing things down, but do it gradually. Write down less and less, then you'll begin relying on paper less and your brain more, so you'll be expanding your memory to be able to remember things you have a hard time now with.

Ginger and ginkoa tea. It's great and tastes good if you add a lil cinnamon and honey.
