Sounds like we are having the same problem. When you are a certain size and above, I guess they feel that you need that extra support or lift. What the heck? I have (in the past) tried what the other answerer suggested by purchasing the one I wanted and removing the underwire, but it totally changed to look of the bra. I guess when the girls are a little bigger than your average bear, the manufacturers feel it necessary to put hardware in your cups. *shrugs*
I have just recently (in the past three months or so) discovered Chantelle bras. The soft cup bra is lightweight, has no underwire, and isn't padded so you don't feel like you are walking with your boobs leading the way. I'm a 36D, so you can only imagine the problems I run into looking for one that has no underwire, and that doesn't look like it should be worn it in combat. Chantelle has many different styles and colors and their sizes are vast, so you shouldn't have a problem locating one in your size. I hope I at the very least give you a lead. I wish you luck on your search for the right foundation, I know it's one of those thorns that are ever-present in most women's sides. Take care! :)

I have a larger set, and the under wires are a massive pain because they seem to stop right in the middle of the side of my breast, and then stab that spot viciously. If I wear the correct size, I get to choose between these massive foam cup monstrosities or the saggy baggy old lady looking 'plus size' bra.
I've found some cute ones at Torrid. But the price of a bra can be outrageous, so check for sales.

Because American guys go for the girls with the biggest breasts and underwires are good at gathering all the fat on your chest and squeezing it into the shape of a breast.

Try going for a gel bra instead.

They're a pain in the you know what are'nt they? What I've done in the past, is just poke a hole in the end where the underwire ends, and then just feed it out from underneath, and ewww!! How do you spell relief?

Try barenecessities.com

The underwire bras are really bad for breast health. Just ask your doctor.

I think it's a plot by men to subjugate women lol. I bet if all jock straps had under wire, it wouldn't take long for "the man" to figure out just how uncomfortable under wire is.
