Yes. They can be kept as pets, indeed they make good pets because they have the capacity to learn new things and are friendly when accustomed to people. But they are still a wild animal as they are not a domestic species like a goat or a dog.

Yes, they're wild unless like...bred in captivity. They can live in captivity and stuff, but horses are the same way.
