Account activity
* Your account becomes inactive if you do not sign in for 30 days, or within the first 10 days after signing up for an account. After an account becomes inactive, all messages, folders, and contacts are deleted, but the account name is still reserved.
* If the account stays inactive for an additional 90 days, it is permanently deleted.

"If a free MSN Hotmail account is not accessed in a 30-day period, then it is temporarily deactivated (all messages deleted, although not the address book). The underlying Passport account, which is tied to the e-mail address, is not released back in to the address pool for 90 days. This allows the current owner to re-activate the e-mail portion of the account and keep the address before new users can register for it; however this is now defunct. MSN Premium/MSN Hotmail Plus customers (pay service) are exempt from the expiration policy."

If you've newly created your account, it's 30-days. If you've got an account from before 2007, it's got a 60-day limit (they added that one for us oldbies-special).

it will only last for 30 days after no usage. After that you would have to reactivate the account.
