why? MLK jr. did not hate white people. It's not about the white people, MLK jr. is about giving Black people pride.
But i understand where your coming from.

No! MLK once said that violence is the language of the unheard. I don't think anyone should be unheard or slapped. MLK also said that a good reason for equality of blacks was to free white people souls from the injustice. He considered that very important, and slapping wasn't part of his movement. Let us honor him on his day of memory.

No. I probably wasn't even alive when that stuff happened. Don't blame be for other's mistakes. I am pro-peace, pro-happiness, and pro all the stuff MLK jr stood for.

If you want to pay homage to MLK who believed very strongly in nonviolence then why not emulate that belief. It's amazing how most black people have no clue what he was about.

Rev. King would be the first to say "Absolutely not!" if he were able. That was not the sort of man he was. Don't sully his name by suggesting such a thing.

This'll get a few bad votes, but I've put it here to illustrate a point:
Following your logic, should all black people be put in chains to celebrate the freedom he was fighting for?
Doesn't make much sense, much like your question.
