All he does is just breath. I feed him 3 times a day and it won't even go to the food. I clean the tank when it gets dirty, or when it is time. I dont want it to die and I dont know what's wrong. What can it be? He is breathing fine but not moving as well, it is always at the bottam tank,,,, '
What's wrong?

is he warm? bettas prefer warm water -- 78-80 degrees. if you put him near a lightbulb it will help warm him up. he might be bored. you should buy a betta a bowl of at least a gallon and make it a fish playground with lots of plants that reach the water surface (artificial are fine) and places to hang out -- i use asian teacups and smaller things they can hang out inside of. you can also try what they call "exercising" your betta. drop a mirror in the tank and let him flare at his reflection a couple times every day.

if he isn't eating his food make sure you take it out. you can use a medicine dropper to do this if you can't catch it with your fingers. i feed mine 3 hikari pellets twice a day.

How long have you had your betta? Depending on how long you have had it, it may be just old and ready to die. I have a betta and sometimes he will be like that like when I feed him, he won't eat right away. I know this sounds crazy but does he have a name? I named mine Gil and I usually call him when I have put food in his bowl and he usually comes up and eats when he hears me call. I would try calling him and giving him a name if he doesn't have one. Also, maybe he doesn't like the food you are giving him. What food are you giving him? THere are 2 kinds that I know of and I give him the lighter colored kind that are also smaller. Let me know if you have any further questions that I can answer. Good Luck!

Is he in at least a 5 gallon tank with a heater and filter? If not then there are 3 problems and the fact that you only clean it when it gets dirty or when its time (which if it isn't once a week then it's not enough) doesn't help.

How's his water? Did you just get him? Sometimes when fish find a new home they are a bit stressed and wont do anything for a couple days or so. I wouldnt be to worried about it. My betta wouldnt eat sometimes and he's fine now.

This happened to 1 of my 3 Betta fish before.
Did you NOT feed it for a long time?
How many pieces of Betta fish food are you feeding it?
My fish just ran out of energy because i didn't feed it for a long time.
I just forced it to eat the food and it did.
or maybe your fish is too full.

make him fight another beta fish. A death scare might make your lazy fish appreciate life a little more.
