I"m using P-IV WIth the motherboard of Gigabyte GA-8VM533 (Available with 2 DIMM slots supporting up to 2GB of DDR266/DDR200 memory, GA-8VM533 provides the highest performance platform with the highest bandwidth (2.1GB/s) mainstream DDR memory solution) as per their Website. I have placed PC3200 DDR SD RAM Of 256MB but I'm not getting any display. Can anyone tell me the difference between DDR266/200 and PC3200? Is it not compatible wih my system, or I have some other problem ? Pls Help

SD-RAM/DDR Ram/DDR2 RAM.DDR3 RAM are all in actuality a similar element. they are all RAM. merely that RAM has more advantageous in its technologies. And so the type of pins on the RAM chips have replaced. so as that they've diverse classifications. you will desire to choose what your motherboard calls for. whether DDR3 is greater advantageous than DDR2, that doesn't do you any sturdy until your motherboard is utilising DDR3. so which you will desire to determine that out first and then merely purchase the only that your board helps. stressful Drives have diverse speeds. they arrive in 5400 (particularly for laptops), 7200 (laptops and computers) and 10,000+ (utilized in computers and servers). It does not rather exchange stability. merely the faster that's the speedier particular operations would properly be (like boot up circumstances). even even though it won't make extensive variations in stability persay (until perhaps you're doing video modifying or such). there is no person to purchase for destiny proofing. i could actual purchase ones that are like a million era previous and get lots of them so which you get greater common cabinet area particularly than one rather small yet "new" power.

The difference is speed. DDR200 will run at : 400Mhz.

Your PC3200 runs at 400Mhz

You take that number and multiply it by 2 to get the actual speed.

So yeah your RAM is compatible so you may have a problem with your video card or monitor.

Do you get any continuous beeps when you boot up?

You are trying to run DDR400 on a DDR200 motherboard. The memory cannot downclock that low. And the DDR400 means 400mhz max, not double it for true speed. There might be a few memory stick that might be able to downclock that far down, but it will be rare.
