I have several gay friends, and they're definitely not stereotypical. In fact, my gay or lesbian friends easily "blend in" with the rest of society. However, having said that, why penalize a man if he IS, in fact effeminate? Truth is, there are several effeminate men who attend my church, and they're all straight. Really, though, what is the obsession with all people being exactly alike? If someone wants to "act gay", whatever that might mean, then it's their business, and none of yours (or mine).

Gay men don't have to "act gay" as you so eloquently put it. But neither should we be forbidden from acting in such a manner.
The whole thing about -being- gay is that we don't precisely fit the mold of what society expects, and we want society to get over it already and just let it be. Well, same thing. I may not act like a "normal" guy, but I'll be damned before I'll let someone else tell me how I ought to act.
People should act as they wish to act. Leave the dichotomy to heterosexual, cisgendered society. We're better than that. There's a reason we adopted the rainbow as our symbol. It's not black and white.

Many gay men can't help it and tend to act that way. I am gay and tend to be more masculine than feminine. Yeah I may hate sports and have a clean room but it doesn't mean I am part of that stereotype.

When it is an act, it's annoying and ridiculous. I know a guy who puts on the lisp at some times, then others, like a work, he talks normal. How fake !! Why be that way?? I agree with you. If they are truly that way, fine, but to put it on and fake it is just stupid. Makes me question their self-esteem.

Why do straight people have to act straight?
Why be a walking billboard for straight? Why do men and women kiss, hug, and hold hands in public view at all times? Why do they insist on letting others know their heterosexual lifestyle?

If you're really all that accepting of gay people, you should also realize that there's no reason they shouldn't have a right to "act gay".

No one is acting. Gays come in all sizes, shapes, tastes, looks etc. You know that.
If you can't "tolderate" the "obvious" or rather "in your face" flambouyance of SOME gays..then avoid them if at all possible...you have that choice.

I would like to know why men have to act like women to attract other men. if you're gay, and you like queens, then why not go for a girl?
if I were a gay man, i'd go for the butchest guy around!
same for lesbians...if I were a lesbian, i'd want the prettiest, most feminime girl i could find, not a girl that acts like a man.
I don't think these an answer to this conundrum....it's part of human nature.
ciaooooo!
