Every black movement/organization/leader today has wrapped themselves in the flag of MLK and has been riding his coattails all the way to the bank.
Black groups today need the specter of early slavery in order to keep their job and political offices. They cannot afford to admit whites and blacks are equal.
As for the militant black groups, they will continue to say white and blacks are unequal until blacks are literally the slave-owners and whites are their slaves for a time.
But for those of us that live in reality, white and blacks have been equal for a very long time and groups such as the NAACP, KKK, LULAC, (basically any group that stresses racial divisions) are irrelevant. In the real world there are always going to be a few people that are unjust to others (on both sides of the racial line) for ignorant reasons, but the vast majority of Americans are fair-minded people.

Well there are still discrimination issues in much of the country, with it being particularly bad in the less civilized parts of the nation (i.e. the deep South). It is getting substantially better though.
There are inequality problems but most of those arise from cultural differences and parenting. Those who speak improper english (or ebonics) are having kids that speak the same way, and the emphasis on rap is diminishing the value of education and so on.
Right now blacks don't have it the worst, the Arabs are openly disliked and discriminated. Muslims are like the second or third most disliked minority in the country.
The single most discriminated and hated minority in the US is the Atheist. So they have it really bad, and they're not allowed or accepted to acknowledge what they are without prejudice and ridicule.

I don't know since I am not black or white.
but I do actually see a lot of unequality that white are afraid black for the not equal right.
anyway, it is not good some black people take advantage of this but I do have to admitted. until today I haven't see a black president in usa. anyway, I hope to see more equal right among all race, not just black, asian too and also white.
not to forgot the purpose of fighting equal and that should including every group, including the group who start with equal right. :-)
let's respect every color, no matter what color we are, or we are not.
peace

The problem is, since Blacks are in the minority, Blacks will never be equal. Let's face it, there are too many prejudices and biases that people have that will never go away.
Meaning that most people will always prefer their own race. To be honest, I never look at a person's skin color. I always look at how they are as a person. I do this because I know people are not perfect which is something everyone should realize.

We could go on all day about this, but the fact is that neither black or white people want us to be one group of totally equal people. There are black people who thrive on being a victim, and there are black people who want more progress. There are white people who love to make fun of black people, and vice versa. Some white people hate racism, some live for it. There are just too many different viewpoints out there to count, and it's really more than just white people's fault at this point, so I say live your life how YOU want to, and let the rest do as they please.

When a black child can go to school in Anytown Inner City, USA and receive an education that is comparable to an education a white child would receive in Anytown, USA.
The best view on how a society operates is to look at the way it treats its children. Black children, including non-white children all over the world, are afforded less opportunities and given the slimmest of pickings this world has to offer.
Let us not forget who controls the money... and in turn the power.

In u.s., black every physique is greater advantageous at activities than technology for one reason. while they have been slaves, no person needed a sensible slave, they needed reliable slaves. that's the technique of "unnatural" decision. in case you're taking black human beings from Africa or different continents, they are merely as sensible as white human beings. relating to the type of scientists, maximum human beings from African international locations (whether they are relatively proficient) don't have of challenge to pursue an training and a medical profession. in the event that they get a greater advantageous danger, there will be plenty greater black scientists.

Since racism still exists, blacks are still treated unfairly by certain people and groups. And that can effect professional jobs/business.
