I think that since they share the same circle of friends, that this could be a lot of fun for the both of them. I think that they would sincerely appreciate the effort that it took on your and your SIL's part to arrange it. I say go for it girl and good luck to you! This is so thoughtful of the two of you to do this for your hubbys too by the way.

I don't think forcing them together uncomfortably in front of a ton of people would be a good idea. It would just add more tension to the situation. If you want them to get together more why don't you and your sister in law go out to dinner , just the 4 of you and celebrate the birthdays..that way they kind of have to talk. At a big party, they'll just dodge each other... or have polite converstaion but nothing will change.

Having a big party might be just what they need.....the brothers might realize how much fun the other one is and want to spend more time together!
Good luck!

i think that you should go along with the surprise party because what's the worst that could happen. the best bet is to make sure that you make sure that they are occupied like maybe have games and make them be on the same team or things of that nature to keep them busy and thinking positivly.

Great idea.. Life is all about taking chances and possibly positive risks You will never know at least you took one more chance at them becoming friends again. Life is too short to miss out on love and friendships especially when it is family.

Don't do it..
Sounds good, but if they aren't cool why make their birthday party a chance to suck? Don't do that, think would you want that done to you?
if you want them to make up do it over a dinner not a party...better chance that way...not in public in front of everyone...

It sounds like a good idea. Maybe the party will make them all come to their senses and let bygones be bygones. Life is too short.

i say it will fall apart...i dont know...i guess you'd have to know why they don't get along. If they're just being stupid boys or their personalities just clash, then they're probably used to it. Get them together, but only if all their buddies are there, like you said.
