I've only spotted one after-market solution (I wasn't really looking for one, though) and that's the DLO Power Bug. It includes a smaller-than-normal AC-USB adapter, a car lighter-USB adapter, and a USB-Shuffle plug (looks like a headphone plug on one end, but it's split up into about 4-5 sections compared to the standard three for a stereo plug).

However, the included dock connects to your computer via USB. This can be used with any AC-USB adapter that you might already own as a stand-alone power solution. There's no reason (except for convenience, or concerns about loss while travelling) that you'd actually need to buy something else.

Go to Best Buy or Circuit City, or where ever technology is there specialty. they should have multiple selections. OR you could go to an "on-campus iPod store" which are located at most colleges or local colleges

The people working there are very helpfull, so if you are
unsure about anything, just ask.
