Political correctness gone made. There is no racism going on that house - we have it every single time there is someone "not white and english" in the house - better not say black, indian, scottish etc cos that would be racist wouldn't it. Shilpa is constantly taking the mickey out of the way other people talk because of their accents - is that not racism then? If I was in a room full of indian people and someone referred to me as the white girl I would not be offended in the slightest - they need to get a grip.

Shilpa seems to be a target of bullying for no apparent reason and you have to look at all the possible causes. It could be racism, it could be that they're jealous of her beauty, it could be a class thing or it could be that she's not from England and all the other girls are and she's an easy target for bullying - an outsider. It could also be that the others drink too much and Shilpa doesn't. It's probably a combination of all of the above.

Good luck to you for speaking your mind. I agree with the Danielle part of your question, the little Danielle tart is just a little nothing who'll will get its t1ts out for anybody (with money) so she's just this side of being a whore in my eyes.
The tone of voice in which Shilpa was called an Indian, or more to the point 'that Indian' stinks more of jealousy than racism so I think that is the reason C4 let it go out on air.

Shilpa obviously thought she was going to the palace [ ja sure] What did she expect people to bow in front of her and say Ma'am, Madam like she so proudly likes to point out she is called in India. It does not take much to be filmstar in India not when you have rich parents and the rest of the country is down the drain. She May be beautiful but then again beauty is in the eye of the beholder , but she certainly knows how to swear, how to backstab and how to nag and nag. And the habit of dragging people into the toilet to scandal, where does that come from, a dirty habit that.
She must come right, someone calling you a dog is not racist, not at all, ask any black person who lives in S-Africa and they will laugh their heads off. She is just a spoiled little girl who gets her own way alllll the time, taking over other peoples tasks and is just a misery. She runs down her house-mates continuesly to Michaels brother calling them, low-class, common etc. I am sure she has done a bit of shagging herself, have you ever watched one of her movies, not exactly Virgin Mary . Danielle is a young girl, she is just as beautiful as Shilpa not as sophisticated but in time i think she will be. We all make mistakes in our lifes and i think Danielle as she has said quite a few times are well aware she had as well.
I bet is that Danielle is the most honest of the two, nothing two-faced about that girl, while Madamoiselle is a back-stabber. There now i have it out of my system. Relaxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Actually what I think happened is that they didn't like her and in turn began to pick at the little things to put her down. The constant reference to "the Indian" is one of them. Seems to me they are making Shilpa out to be "not one of us" by constantly referring to the differences through her nationality out of insecurity. It is a clever way of getting your fellow Britons to unit with you by discreetly sending out "she is an Indian, she isn't one of us" signals. It has everything to do with the "them and us" mentality - a clever way to cause divisions within the group.
It may not have been her race they didn't like about her but they certainly have turned it into a race issue now. When bullies don't like someone, they pick on the little things to make them feel bad and in this case they are using race. Everyone knows Shilpa's name yet at least three women have been calling by her nationality instead. If you go abroad and someone began referring to you as "The English" in a negative way instead of using your name when they know it is being used in a disrespectful way. It is drawing attention to your nationality. Kind of reminds me of how some ignorant people say "the Germans" and then talk about them in a bad way due to their dislike. Plus it is clear as day they don't like her which only fuels the argument that it was used in a negative context.
Finally, one member of Jade's clique also made a "Paki" remark - that IS a derogatory term and undoubtedly racist.

There is definite bullying going on in the house, you can't deny that and a lot of it does stem from jealously but are they actually being racist? Well to be referred to as " the Indian" is rude, I think. To ask if Indians eat with their hands is just plain ignorant and to mock Shilpa's accent is just childish. I suppose it depends on how you look at the situation and what kind of person you are and the kind of experiences you've had if you deem it to be racist or not. Let us not forget that racism stems from ignorance and we have witness a lot of ignorance on this "game show".

Personally, I think it is a case of the illeducated and the illiterate being scared of the educated and literate. Shilpa, for her faults remains beautiful and learned in the face of the sadly idiotic and racist Jade and co - lets drop the pretense people - if we were to strip Jade and Danielle of their money, their fame and their surgicallly enhanced bodies would we be so willing to accept the nonsence that dribbles from their mouths? They are nothing but bullies, racists and we are happy to accept that so long as it is presented as entertainment - some of you think it is just young girls acting out - the same acting out that saw 12 young girls stabbed in the last three years in their schools - but hey - **** isnt that entertainment?

To be honest when Jades mum called her 'the indian' i did think 'thats a bit racist' but when you put it like that i don't suppose it is.
Some people like to find fault in everything, kick up a fuss and cause abit of contraversy. Unless Shilpa herself complains then they should let it go.

i do not consider you in any respect. You sound like a egocentric bimbo! Jade, Jo and Danielle are racially bullying her. Jade the single which sounds like a pipsqueak. Danielle that likes to teach off those tittys Jo the single which sounds like a transexual *****! Shilpa is undeniable and that i trust so sorry for her. She has been singled out of that abode. in trouble-free words Dirk and Jermaine can see how astounding she is!
