if an organism has a diploid number of 72, then how many chromosomes would be present in each daughter cell after a mitotic division? explain how you solved this problem please?

the person above me is right when talking about human cells, but i don't that's not what your asking

the daughter cells of the organism your talking about would each have 72 chromosomes as well, because mitosis produces daughter cells that are identical to the parent cell. Mitosis occurs in somatic (body) cells, which are all diploid, meaning that they have a full set of chromosomes.

The only time this would not be true is during meiosis, the process of division in sex cells, which have a haploid number of chromosomes. Haploid means half, because during sexual reproduction a sex cell from each parent will donate it's haploid number of chromosomes, creating a diploid zygote.

human somatic cell is a "body cell" (not one involved in sexual reproduction). Therefore, there are 46 chromosomes in a somatic cell. This is also the diploid number. Since we have two sets of chromosomes (one comes from mom and one from dad), we say algebraically that the diploid number = 2n = 46 (in humans). Therefore a haploid set = n = 23 in humans (this would apply to sperm and eggs).

The daughter cellular is an equivalent of the parent cellular, having an identical chromosome quantity and donning an identical genetic information. however now and back, the chromosome kind of the daughter cellular could exceed that of the parent cellular even though it many times returns to the orginal chromosome quantity.
