Not only did he score his first loss fair and square (rare that a heel pins a face fairly), but it looks like Punk is not going to get as big a push as what he was. Heyman was a big Punk fan and wanted to push him to the main event, but with Heyman out of the picture, don't expect Punk to be in the main event picture any time soon. Your thoughts?

I am not jumping on the CM Punk ban waggon. Personally I don't see anything in our out of the ring that says Champion. And I also don't get why people like his clean cut gimick so much. I think it is boring as hell.
Reguardless though, I am suprised that his push will slow down. Like all of you said, he is well over with the crowd. And with champs like Cena, Batista, and Lashley, it seems like all you need to become a champ is to be over with the crowd. Personally, I could really care less about his slow down. The only thing I like about him is the tats.

And to the idiot who said Punk is a more deserving champ than Holly? Are you out of your mind? Holly has wrestled for almost 15 years and has had injury after injury. Angle broke his arm, Lesnar broke his neck, he had that staff injection, and the 24 stiches in his back (finished the match by the way). Your going to tell me Punk is more deserving?

Punk lost because of his actions at the last ECW payperview, getting all butthurt over losing to Holly of all people. It was retribution from the back for his actions. Yes he was a Heyman mark to say the least, but hes good and hopefully he will get through this. I just hope Vince doesnt' let his head get too far up his butt to see he has a great talent here. I hope he goes to Raw or Smackdown because ECW is killing him, as well as the other guys on the show.

The report that is circulating says that the current ECW bookers feel that CM Punk hasn't "paid his dues" and apparently with Heyman gone, they are taking steps to make him... hence the clean loss to Holly (according to them a much bigger star due to his time in the WWE (of course I would just mention "Sparky Plugg to shut them down)) I guess Ring of Honor isn't on their radar either.

Sad to say, but you are probably right. Yet again a new talent that WWE is going to hamstring and not push like they should. I remember reading that comment that DX apparently felt a bit snubbed that CM Punk got the biggest crowd pop at Survivor Series. So Vince and company are more than willing to push their favorites onto the fans whether the fans like it or not, but when you have someone already over with the crowds on his own and has good ring skills, WWE wants to do nothing with him, except knock him down.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense Vince. Sigh.

WTF?!?! That sucks. Now the two major wrestling promotions in the U.S. won't push him! Punk already told ROH to shove it and went to work for WWE, and now Vince McMahon is so f***ing stupid he's going to waste his biggest contender on ECW. Hardcore Holly beating him is a load of $h!t. CM Punk is already majorly over with fans and your going to end his title streak by having some 50 year old bodyguard beat him?! Anybody with a brain knows that CM Punk is a passionate worker, who should be given the push of a lifetime. My gosh where do the bad ideas end for McMahon. I suggest to anyone if you ever attend an ECW event chant "We want Punk!" whenever Hardcore Holly shows up. Hardcore Holly is a bigger star my @$$. When's the last time you've seen him with a title. The 90's!!! When's the last time you've seen Punk with a title? Last year OVW World Heavyweight Champion. F' Vince McMahon and Arn Anderson for making that decision. WWE needs a new creative team who actually PUSH deserving superstars instead of shoving undeserving ones down our throat. The next time I see Arn Anderson I will personally rip off his nutsack and feed it to him.

I hate it. CM Punk gets more pop (crowd reaction) than DX or the Hardys, yet the producers of ECW (arn anderson and Fit Finlay) want to keep him down. The wwe has so much potential, but they keep messing it up, if they keep screwing things up like this, expect TNA to overtake them sooner than I had guessed they would, I mean, I used to love the WWE, but now I'm a huge TNA fan because the WWE doesn't know how to book matches or use workers anymore.

Nope he isn't gonna be in the Mainevent. anytime soon. Mcmahon doesn't like him and Lashley will probably face someone thst's undeserving like test instead of more deserving guys like punk RVD or Sabu
