I have a huge mouse problume!!!! My building is full of them. It seems as though my upstairs neighbor let her son bring home a pet mouse from school(nasty!!!) and they would let it run all around the apt and it found another mouse and had baby's and now the baby's are having baby's. It's out of control and so nasty. I can't stand the sight of the little things! If anyone has any advice on getting rid of them, please help!

I've had great success with this trap in my house:

It’s also available for $2 cheaper here (although I prefer to buy it from the other place since I’m not a big fan of PETA):

I've caught over ten mice with it so far and it can be used over and over indefinitely. Or, you can try making the free homemade humane trap described here:

http://www.helpinganimals.com/wildlife_livingWithMice.asp

If you do live trap mice, please be sure to check the traps several times a day and release the mice promptly, approximately a mile away from your home. It is much more cruel to allow a mouse in a live trap to slowly starve to death than to kill it quickly with a snap trap. Also, if you use the live traps outside, put some bedding (torn-up paper towels or cotton balls) inside the trap so the mice won't freeze to death during the night. When you release the mice, do it in an area with some sheltering bushes or plants. If you are a kind person, you might also leave a little bird seed or oatmeal for them.

The absolute cruelest traps are glue traps. Mice have been known to gnaw off their own limbs and tear off their skin in an effort to escape, as they starve or dehydrate to death or suffocate in the glue. It can take three to five days for them to die. Poison isn't any better, as the mice die slowly and painfully from internal bleeding. It can take up to a week for them to die, and then they smell as they rot behind your walls.

It doesn't take much extra effort to be kind. You will feel better and so will the mice! Good luck!

Get a pet white rat. ok it sounds odd. but Mice will smell the rat and leave the area. Rats kill mice and mice treat them the same way we treat lions.

Rats are great smart pets and cheep to keep and easy to teach tricks to. They also love to play and will wake up to play with you.

They only live two to three years and most apartments will let you keep a caged animals. But will toss you out if you get a cat. Pulse if you feed the cat it probably will not be a good mouser.
Rats scare mice more then cats do.

Sticky traps. They are like glue on a lid and you put them where the mice run. then use a shovel to toss out the trap. I don't like poison because mice will die in your walls but it is the fastest way to kill them.
Live traps are a waste because most mice will die of hart attacks when removed from their home area.

Buy large glass caning jars to store food in that they can get at.

Call your landlord. Mice will destroy the building.

Hey!!! I FEEL YOUR PAIN!! eww... I had the same issue and first thing you need to do is make sure there's no food ,crumbs... anywhere ... on the floor, counter and where ever ... Then .. go get these traps they are clears boxes and you put some peanut butter in the doorway of the trap and they work sooooo good.... They are really cheap and then you just through it away... The mice will probably be alive in the box but it works and get a whole bunch of them ..... Oh if you have a oven ...make sure you put one in there too... It seems cruel ,but it gets rid of those Mothas.. Peace

Oh! We are having this problem now. Our neighbor had told us a while back that they had mice. I think they may have put out poison and now they are coming over here to die. We have found several dead mice just lying around.... found one yesterday. It totally freaked me out!

My advice would be to not leave dirty dishes out overnight, clean up crumbs, wipe your countertops with bleach each night which will deter them, also plug up any holes you may find with steel wool because they won't chew through it, put all food in closed containers, set out traps, and rat/mice poison, and good luck!
