He should be fired. He ranks up there with former Vikings coach Bud Grant and former Broncos/Falcons coach Dan Reeves as the biggest "Big-Game" flops in N.F.L. history.
Not only was his team undisciplined (mental mistakes panelaties), he cost them a valuable time-out when he challenged a clearly correct call. Why wasn't he wearing the head-set so the guys upstairs could advise him ?
And lastly, why didn't L.T. get the ball in the 4th quarter ?

Marty did make some mistakes on Sunday (going for it on 4th and 11) and considering his icy relationship with the GM, I think he will lose his job for it, but hey at least say this much for him: It wasn't his idea to let Drew Brees, the MVP runner up, go for absolutely nothing in return. (That was what caused his relationship with the GM Smith to detoriate)
Postseason numbers
Yds Att Cmp TDs Ints Rating
Brees 243 32 20 1 0 96.2
Rivers 230 32 14 0 1 55.5

He will still be with the Chargers next year but I think he has proven he will continue to be "one and done". The Lynn Elliott curse lives on!!!
