Who is emotionally distant and has an issue with intimacy? I try so hard not to say things in a way that is attacking but no matter how I say things he takes it like I am attacking him.

i have a man just like him, you have to decide if the love you 2 hve for each other is worth it, he wont change, so live with it or end it, that simple, sorry but take it fro msomeone who knows, good luck

A person, man or woman, who is always defensive is very insecure with himself or herself. Don't you hate having to walk on eggshells? First off, the person needs professional counseling to find out where the insecurity started. Or maybe the things you are saying push his buttons because he knows the things you are saying are true and doesn't want to face the truth. Either way, nothing is going to change until he realizes he has a problem.

Tell him you have something you want to talk to him about. Tell him it's important and let him choose when to talk about. Tell him you're not trying to attack him but..... then say what the problem is. Use soft tones and a quiet voice. Try to not get "excited" if the conversation gets heated.

Kick him to the curb. You two DO NOT match up well, and if you stay, you will just be hurt more when HE finally leaves. There are great guys out there who can talk with you without burning their brains out or taking offense. Go find one, and best of luck.

It might have to do with other issues of his that you are not aware of. Perhaps having a safe third party involved might help? Don't bring in a friend or family member. I mean an ecclesiastical leader or counselor.

If you want to work it out with him you need professional help. Otherwise, dump him and let some other girl sort out the mess, it its even possible.
