I am having a sharp pain in my abdominal area. I missed my period for 2 months and had my period recently for only 2 days. However, I have taken 2 pregnancy test and they have both been negative. Is it possible to have an ectopic pregnancy when the results are negative? By the way, I am making a doctors appointment today to get this issue checked out.

No, in fact, when a female came in with abdominal pain and the doctor suspected an ectopic pregnancy, one of the first things we did in the ER was run a pregnancy test. If it was negative, we knew it was not an ectopic pregnancy.
However, I am glad you are making a doctor's appointment. The pain could be many things and one cause could be an ovarian cyst or even PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) which can lead to irregular periods and skipping periods. Of course, those are just two things that might be causing your problems. The doctor will be able to find out what the real problem is.
You didn't say if your pregnancy tests were home tests or blood tests. If home tests, please expect a pregnancy test to be one of the tests the doctor will do. In some women, HCG rises slowly so a home pregnancy test does not pick it up...a blood pregnancy test is far more sensitive. The doctor might also do an ultrasound to visualize your ovaries. Just be sure to make that appointment!

the pain on your side could just very well be a ovarian cyst....I had two of those and they hurt like hell.....just go to the doctor asap and get it checked out.....dont let it go because you may end up losing an ovary.......Good Luck

BLOOD TESTS.....
I had 3 negatives with the urine tests....and I was pregnaunt. Go for the blood tests since it is better.
