Any telescope can view any object at any distance. You can see stars light years away just with your eye or binoculars, or a cheap telescope, or a big expensive telescope. And you can see things 1,000 yards away just with your eye or binoculars, or a cheap telescope, or a big expensive telescope. The optical equipment just makes them look bigger. Except for the stars. Most stars just look like infinitely small dots in even the biggest telescope!

Go to your local firearms store and purchase a spotting scope. You can mount it on a camera tripod. Bushnell has a couple of relatively inexpensive ones and they are pretty good quality.
