There's a new law saying that everyone needs a passaport (including children and babies) and i heard that only Citizens of the US need a passaport in order to travel, but i would like to know if Residents need their passaport because usually you can travel with your residence card (if you travel by car) but now every one needs a passaport, so do residents need one too? (not the US passaport, but like the one 4rom their country such as Argentina?

As of NOW, everyone needs to present a passport to ENTER the United States, citizens and visitors both. Yes, your Argentinian passport would suffice, and is available by mail from the consulate if it is not current. This is required only if you leave the country and wish to re-enter.

Citizens and Resident Aliens are free to move about the country with regular identification. Anyone who leaves the USA and wishes to return must have a passport.

You may move freely within the 50 United States with your present documentation.

If you travel by car to Mexico or Canada, you must have a passport to return to the US, as would any US citizen. If you travel from California to Maine you do not need a passport unless you cross a national border. Any legal passport from a government the US recognizes is acceptable.

Good luck
