I pierced my ears almost 12 weeks ago. I changed them for the 5th time almost 7 weeks ago and the nxt day I found a bump behind my ear. {On the place between your ear and head}
It was red and glossy and it was like a blister. I showed my mum and she said that when she pierced she got the same thing and it eventually burst and blood came out and after that yellowish stuff.

I went to the doc. and he put some 'dressing' of magnesium something and gave me antibiotics for 5 days. It became smaller but it's growing again.

Do you think I should just remove my earrings and let it close and pierce again mayb nxt yr?

It is possible that the earrings you're using are causing an allergic reaction. Try pure gold or surgical steel (sold at Claires and The Icing) The same thing happens to me...im allergic to "cheap" earrings, my boyfriend gets a kick outta that.

did you get it pierced with a gun?
if so, i guarantee that is the ultimate cause of the problem.
nothing, not even ears, should be pierced with a piercing gun, not at Piercing Pagoda, not at Claire's, nowhere!

i think you should read this:

http://tattoo.about.com/cs/psafety/a/piercing_guns.htm

EDIT: lovee shopping, no attitudes necessary.
i too had my ears pierced with a gun, five in one ear and three in the other, and they are all fine.
but that still does not mean that they are safe, or that it was the right thing to do.
i don't care if you or your sister, or the majority of America have their ears pierced with a gun, that still does not mean that it is the safest thing to do, ears should be pierced with a needle, just like all other body piercings.

I think that you should go see the doctor again if it is coming back. I hope that you are cleaning those earring with alcohol before putting them back in as well.
When I had mine done I put alcohol in a small container (the lid will work if this is all you are using it for) and put my earrings in there before I put them on.

Also get stainless steal earrings as I cannot wear anything else myself as my lobes will get infected. Hope this helps!

first of all.. whatdidyo... i got my ears pierced with a gun and i have had them pierced for about 12-13 years and they are fine. my sister also has hers pierced and when she first got them pierced they got infected and a similar thing happened. it was because of the type of earrings she wore.

and if your doctor says that it is ok i would keep it in and use the antibiotics and see what happens, if you said it is growing i would go back to your doctor and ask for his opinion.

mm make sure when you get your piercings beware of infections. I would say make sure it heals first. Cause you would want to look good, and ear rings are optional not a necessity. So make sure it heals first.
