How did today's youth get so influenced by abercrombie, A&F and Hollister, if the media says nothing about it?

and it's not like you see a whole lot of celebs wearing those brands...

Because such trends come & go, it's not really newsworthy. It's pretty much a given that teens will always have their own brands that are hot, no matter what everyone else is wearing.

UGGs are being worn by everybody now, including celebs (Ugh!) but A&F, Hollister and Mudd- Who will remember them 10 years from now?

Young people used to wear other brands no one mentions now. Remember Doc Martens? Izod? Zubaz pants? Starter jackets? GX jeans? Adidas warm-ups? Levis 501s?
