It's doesn't. If it does anything at all - it is self-fulfilling prophecy at best or a temporary distraction at worst. It's fun but not credible.
Army generals used to used such events as Halley's Comet to convince men that is was a sign of their destiny to win a battle in order to remove fear from men. While it helped men jump into battle, some of those historical battles were lost.

Though all men (also women) look alike and are born in a similar fashion, we know that their fates are not same. Even two brothers born out of same parents do not have same fate or luck. This naturally made futurologists think what could be the possible reasons. The different and changing planetory positions offered an easy explanation for the different 'fates' of different men. This is how the 'science' of astrology might have been born.

lol ... I suggest asking the same question under the "Horoscope" category and you'll get entirely different answers. Personally, I would never likely say "It isn't real", "doesn't work" or "it's a scam" without knowing what I'm talking about. There are a great many things that we don't fully understand. That doesn't mean they don't exist. Ask an Astrologer if you want real info.

If you believe it, it will happen, first of all.
Second of all, as much as psych was my religion at one time, I still myself have been able to tell two people that they were born about a month early, without ever having discussed the topic.
They acted very much like the sign just after the one they'd been reasing all of their lives.
And I don't beleive in much of anything.
Blew me away.
There's more to life than Platonic reasoning, I tell ya!

They don't. There simply is no evidence that astrology works. It is a hoax that some people keep alive to either comfort themselves or get wealthy.
