English is not my mother tongue. I make the effort to speak in your language (the language of your English masters) whereas most American don't know any foreign language.

Hello

First let me answer the question about where I came from......
I know exactly where I came from, it's the same place everyone else comes from. Their biological or surrogate mothers womb!!!

If you are talking about heritage........than again I know exactly where I come from. America.

My mothers and her parents and siblings immigrated from Sweden when she was 5.
My father was born in America as well as were his parents. His grandparents however were (all 4) born in Germany.

So how or better yet why would this have any effect on my patriotism????

Let me ask you a question? Why is it that every nationality is allow encouraged even to be proud of who they are and where they come from EXCEPT Americans?

And if you look at all the other countries histories and look at the mistakes and screw ups they have made when they were only young countries they are no better or worse than America is. America as a nation is only a little over 200 years old. I for one think America is doing pretty darn good for being in the infancy stage among much older countries.

It is racism and bigotry that keeps the world in war and the human race from being the greatest it can be.

Hmm, one side of my family came here for freedom from religious persecution and the other for economic opportunites. I know where I come from as do most others here. Some came voluntarily, some were brought here. We are patriotic, because we understand we are a melting pot with different cultures, different languages and different religions and it's the one thing we have in common is our citizenship.

For the record, I speak 3 languages, my parent's each speak 2, as do my children.

Becuase we are the land of opportunity, and we destroyed the worlds most powerful army to be independent. We are not as patriotic as you think thorough, becuase the only people you see that are americans are on tv or paper ads. Also we arent socialist,

If saying we don't know where we come from, you mean we don't know our history, you obviously don't know your own. Men are evil and do evil things. We are however coming out of dark times even if they currently don't seem like it. In other parts of the world they are barely advancing, this is why YOU learned english, so that you can become part of civilized society, instead of whatever barbaric land you were raised in.

Because we are proud that we have independence and that we are much better off than pretty much all the countries in the world.

I am patriotic and I am very well aware where I come from thank you very much.
