I was told bolts had to be removed and would be charged extra time to do this at a local NTB shop. They charged roughly $62 extra for .8 hr. I was told of this ahead of time and had chance to decline. I was only in shop a total of an hour.

All adjustments are included in the cost of the alignment itself. If they have to replace parts such as eccentric bolts in the control arms in order to make the needed adjustments then yes, you would need to pay for the additional parts & labor required to install those parts. Otherwise you will end up with a less than perfect alignment - which your still paying for regardless.

Alot of times cars come stock with non adjustable camber. The way they remedy this is to install new struts with slotted holes where it bolts to the steering knuckle. The slots allow adjustment of the camber where as before you just had machined holes for the bolts to go through. Without slots there is no adjustment. So I don't think your getting.Ripped off. There sure way to find out is to call a Ford dealer and ask the service department if there is a camber adjustment on your car when it comes from the factory stock.
If they say no then my explaination tells you what they have to do. If they say yes there is then yes they are trying to screw you. But I think they are right when they tell you it's not adjustable.
Either that or they have to install bolts that have an offstet to them. And can use the bolts to make the tire lean inward or outward to adjust the camber

when you get an alignment, you are charge for adjustment only. any additional parts or repairs will cost you extra. you will be charge by the regulation book or issue you an estimate up front. it got nothing to do with how fast the technician work on your vehicle. an average alignment machine cost about 45000.00 dollars so the shop have to charge you certain amount to pay off the machine and maintance. check the shop performance rating at your local bureau of automotive repair for any citation in the past for your protection.

And? If you were told it would be extra, and had a chance to say no and go elsewhere, what's the problem? You've decided after the fact that it should have been covered under one price?

Anything extra that needs to be done will be explained before hand, and if you agree, charged for.
