There are many different guitar types. It sounds like you are looking for an electric guitar. The prices vary greatly. How much are you looking to spend? The pickups on the guitar can have a great effect on the sound, but the AMP and effects account for MUCH of the sound you get. Best idea is to first check out the web to see different guitars/prices. Then go into the store and try them out. It's hard to say what is the best because choosing an instrument is a very personal thing. Here are a couple of websites to check out guitars. www.samash.com www.musiciansfriend.com www.americanmusicalsupplyl.com
All three are reputable companies with competitive prices. I have spent much money at each of them.
good luck

gibson makes a custom angus young SG i believe. There are plenty of guitars on there to pick and choose from so look over em all and find what suits you best. If that Gibson SG model is too much then you can also look into the epihphone model as well which should be cheaper.

Epiphone SG. Looks like Angus, costs like Wal-Mart. Decent enough quality to take you far enough to earn a Gibson Angus Young Edition SG.

"gitar"..... spelled "GUITAR". "witch"..... spelled "WHICH". "wont".... spelled "WANT". If you're a beginner, then I'd go with something basic and simple and inexpensive. If you go to a good, reputable music store, they'd let you try out different guitars and help you choose the one that's best suited for YOU... not someone who plays in a band. And you might want to worry about what it looks like after you've learned to play.

Based on what you like, it sounds like you should get the BC Rich guitar. They have a real goth appearance and sound pretty good.

There is so much more to it than looks, and basically any cheap electric guitar is going to sound like the next.
I have lots of info on making a good choice, too much, in fact, to be able to share here.

If you're just starting out....
1. you should learn to spell guitar correctly
2. something basic like a fender squier is fine to learn on. what the guitar looks like doesn't matter if you can't even play it.
3. go to a guitar shop or guitar center and try them out. see which one feels the most comfortable to hold, play, etc.
4. research on the internet. fender, jackson, dean, epiphone
