Usually there's utility software that came along with the flash drive, in a folder on the drive itself (Unless you deleted it)

It should be visible from the root directory when you insert the drive- run it and it lets you password protect folders or the whole drive etc. It might require reformatting, so make sure you've taken any of your own data off the USB drive that you need to keep.

You can make partition for your flash drive that's for sure, but I am not so sure about the partition being password protected (or some how making the partition password protected )....
what you can do is use a linux distro.(live CD is highly recommended) and use the command cfdisk from the shell konsole to make a partition or more. For more info email me at drraj_16@yahoo.com

Yoy can try the command "fdisk". Its the command that formats and walls your hardchronic so it ought to artwork. you'll get proper of entry to it once you position a commence up disk into your pc (like living house windows XP). yet i dont recognize if it is going to artwork with a flashchronic. Now imagine, be care finished consisting of your question are we speaking about usb flash drives or difficult drives? you're saying a clean hardchronic at the starting up and then on the right you're saying flashchronic. you should want to make it extra certain.

You can't partition flash drive, it may destroy it. So I don't recommend you to try it.
