NO !!!

The Julii were a patrician family, that is, nobility, with claims of being as old as Rome itself, or possibly older (but the whole shebang about Aeneas etc was written up under the reign of Augustus), and claimed descent from Venus.

But they were NOT royalty. No relation to established royal families like the Pompilii or the Tarquins (who were Etruscan anyway).

To boot, let's remember that one of the reasons which pushed his assassins to act was that they thought that he was going to crown himself king, and the Romans had a complete horror of kings, which is why Augustus took the title of "imperator", which essentially meant "commander in chief", rather than a straight assumption of royalty.
